Question 1

What roofing services do you offer?

Accepted Answer

We provide new roof installations, roof repairs, flat roofing including GRP fibreglass, leak repairs, tile replacement, flashing repairs, storm damage repairs, guttering, fascias and soffits, roof and chimney repointing, chimney repairs, and roof inspections and maintenance.

Question 2

Do you repair leaking roofs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We assess the likely source of the leak — which is often some distance from where water appears — and repair the cause rather than just the symptom.

Question 3

Can you replace broken or missing tiles?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We replace damaged and missing tiles or slates with the closest available match and check the surrounding roof covering for related problems.

Question 4

What is GRP fibreglass roofing?

Accepted Answer

GRP is a flat roofing system made from resin reinforced with glass-fibre matting and finished with a coloured topcoat. It forms a seamless waterproof layer with no joints.

Question 5

How long can a new roof installation take?

Accepted Answer

It depends on roof size and complexity, access, materials and the weather. We provide an estimated programme with your quotation once we understand the project.

Question 6

Can you repair damaged roof flashing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We repair or renew flashing around chimneys, walls, valleys and roof penetrations.

Question 7

Do you repair gutters?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We repair leaking joints and damaged sections, clear blockages and install new gutter and downpipe systems.

Question 8

Can you repoint a chimney?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We rake out and renew deteriorated mortar and check the flaunching, pots and flashing at the same time.

Question 9

Can you repair storm-damaged roofs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We assess storm damage, provide temporary protection where appropriate and carry out permanent repairs. Please don't climb onto a damaged roof yourself.

Question 10

Do you provide quotations?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tell us about your roof using our quote form or by phone. Depending on the work, we may need to assess the roof before giving a quotation.

Question 11

What information helps you prepare a quotation?

Accepted Answer

A description of the problem, the type of property and roof if known, your postcode and — if you can take them safely from the ground — a few photographs.

Question 12

Will you need to visit the property?

Accepted Answer

For most jobs, yes. Roofing work depends on the condition of the roof, so an assessment is usually needed for an accurate quotation.

Question 13

Is the quotation itemised?

Accepted Answer

We aim to set out the scope of work clearly so you know exactly what is and isn't included.

Question 14

What roof coverings do you work with?

Accepted Answer

Common pitched roof coverings include concrete tiles, clay tiles and natural or man-made slate. For flat roofs, GRP fibreglass is a popular option.

Question 15

Can you match my existing tiles?

Accepted Answer

We try to source matching or close-match tiles. Discontinued tiles may need reclaimed or alternative products.

Question 16

Is lead the only option for flashing?

Accepted Answer

Lead is traditional and widely used, but alternative flashing products exist and may suit some situations.

Question 17

How soon can work start?

Accepted Answer

That depends on current workload, the type of job and the weather. We will give you an expected start window when you accept a quotation.

Question 18

What happens if it rains?

Accepted Answer

Some roofing work cannot be carried out in wet weather. If conditions are unsuitable, we will reschedule and keep the roof protected.

Question 19

How long will a new roof take?

Accepted Answer

It depends on roof size and complexity, access, materials and the weather. We provide an estimated programme with your quotation once we understand the project.

Question 20

Do you repair leaking roofs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We assess the likely source of the leak — which is often some distance from where water appears — and repair the cause rather than just the symptom.

Question 21

Can you repair storm-damaged roofs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We assess storm damage, provide temporary protection where appropriate and carry out permanent repairs. Please don't climb onto a damaged roof yourself.

Question 22

How often should I have my roof checked?

Accepted Answer

Many owners have their roof checked periodically and after severe weather. Older roofs may benefit from more regular checks.

Question 23

Should I clear my own gutters?

Accepted Answer

Only if you can do so safely from the ground or with proper equipment. Working at height is dangerous — if in doubt, ask a professional.

Question 24

Do you work on residential and commercial properties?

Accepted Answer

We welcome both residential and commercial enquiries. Please describe the property and roof so we can respond appropriately.

Question 25

Which areas do you cover?

Accepted Answer

We cover London, split into Central, North, East, South and West London. See our Areas We Cover page for the boroughs in each area, or contact us with your postcode if you're unsure.
